After stopping at lots of tolls, pushing our way through all the traffic in NYC, and making a quick lunch stop at a Chinese place, we finally arrived to our stop for the night, Glen Cove Mansion. This mansion was beautiful. The grounds around the mansion were just a pretty as the inside of the mansion. Most of the original building stayed in tact when the mansion underwent a renovation in 2004. We enjoyed our afternoon reading by the pool and later taking a bikeride along the Gold Coast. About halfway into the bikeride my seat broke, so my wonderful Dad came to my rescue and rode my bike back for me! He's so great.
Later in the evening we enjoyed a yummy dinner at a nearby restaurant overlooking the sound, and then went to Pub 1910 on the upstairs floor of the mansion and enjoyed some drinks and an ah-mazing chocolate mousse cake. Yum!
Isn't the food display so good?! I was very impressed! |

After chowing down a delicious omlet and fresh fruit we were on the road again. Where this time? Newport!! Read about our adventures in Newport tomorrow!
